Rick Ross Talks 'Veteran's Day' Collabo With Lil Wayne

Miami Don wanted Wayne home before dropping new video for Birdman-assisted track.

Rick Ross is a man of honor.

The Miami Don recorded a video for his Lil Wayne-assisted track "Veteran's Day," but the Boss waited until the Cash Money superstar was released from prison before putting out the track.

"I just wanted to hold it down until the homie came home and celebrate like that with the homie," Ross told MTV News.

Weezy wasn't able to see the final version of the visual before he turned himself in to begin an eight-month prison sentence on Rikers Island in March. Now free, though, Ross said Wayne has had a chance to see the finished product.

"Birdman hit me after we released the video, he bigged up Spiff," Ross said of the Cash Money label head giving props to director Spiff TV. "He bigged up the whole team. This is what we gonna keep doing."

The horn-laden track leaked prior to the release of Ross' Teflon Don album, but he decided to keep the song off of that project. Instead, he held onto the full-length version. (The leak featured only a portion of the track and didn't include all of the lyricists who make the final cut.) Ross said the track is now a gift for fans; he has no plans to place it on a future album or mixtape.

"I had the love to follow through with the video and execute it and deliver it," he explained. "It was a record that I loved, that just didn't make it. A lot of times it just happens like that. This is as far as it's gonna go. It's for the people."

What do you think of Ross and Wayne's "Veteran's Day" collabo? Tell us in the comments!

Lindsay Lohan Reconciled with Her Father?

Lindsay Lohan Reconciled with Her Father?

We don't know for sure that Lindsay Lohan is a changed woman, but recently things seem to be looking up -- with signs that she's making actual progress in rehab. Here are three reasons that have us feeling hopeful about the embattled actress's recovery:

1. She's smiling again. It may seem like a little thing, but it's been a while since the paparazzi have captured LiLo looking happy and alert. On at least three occasions this week, Lohan, 24, has been photographed looking genuinely content (like in this gallery of the actress going on a coffee run near her sober living facility).

2. She's made peace with her dad. This is a big one, since the actress had publicly written Michael Lohan off during the past two years. Obviously, her relationship with her ex-con, publicity-loving dad is a big emotional wound for Lindsay -- so if she's really trying to fix her life, she needs to find a way to heal the relationship. She took the first step by joining her dad for a friendly shopping trip on Sunday, days after he made a pledge to stop talking to the media about her. (Although he did tell the media that the visit went well. Baby steps.)

3. Her mom isn't in denial about her issues. After swearing up and down for years that Lindsay is sober and doesn't need treatment, Dina Lohan told the Today show on Monday that her daughter is getting the help she needs at the Betty Ford Center.

So this all looks like progress, right? We've only heard one thing that worries us: Reportedly, the actress is trying to get a "work pass" from rehab so that she can start working on her next film, the porn-star biopic Inferno. Lohan has pulled this stunt one too many times in her life, finding professional excuses to skip her court-ordered obligations.

Her role in Inferno is going to be intense, and will demand Lohan to leave her comfort zone (the film definitely includes serious nudity, and possibly simulated sex and/or drug use). This doesn't sound like a good transitional project while Lindsay is in recovery. We hope that those close to her and doctors advise her to wait until January to start her next project -- director Matthew Wilder, after all, has made it very clear that he doesn't want anyone else!

Do you think rehab will work for Lindsay Lohan this time? Chime in below!

Justin Bieber Is Recording Acoustic Album For The 'Haters'

November 22 LP is for those who say, 'Justin Bieber can't sing. His voice is all Auto-Tuned,' teen superstar tells MTV News.

Justin Bieber has twice shown fans into his world, thanks to 2009's My World and the 2010 smash follow-up, My World 2.0. On November 22, the singer will do it again, unplugging for his third project, My Worlds Acoustic.

Fans got a taste of what Bieber's latest will sound like when the video for the acoustic version of "Never Say Never" premiered over the weekend, and it's clear he has a mission for this album: to prove he's a great singer.

"I really think that I did an acoustic album because there's a lot of haters out there that say, 'Justin Bieber can't sing. His voice is all Auto-Tuned,' " he told MTV News at an L.A. signing for his book "Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story." "And there's a lot with production, it kind of drowns out your voice, and it takes away from the singer, over the synths and everything."

My Worlds Acoustic will be a response to his critics, Justin explained. "I think kind of stripping it down and having it kind of really mellow and being able to hear my voice is why I wanted to do it."

While Bieber didn't want to reveal too much, he confirmed a brand-new track will be included on the LP.

"A lot of [the songs] from My World 2.0. 'Baby' was redone, and then we got an extra song on there that no one's ever heard, and it's a really inspiring song too. ... Can't really talk about that song yet."

Are you eager to hear a stripped-down Justin? Do you have any doubts he can really sing? Tell us in the comments!

Gwyneth Paltrow Got Help From Beyonce For CMA Performance

Actress asked B and Faith Hill 'a lot of questions' while prepping for her live singing debut.
By Mawuse Ziegbe

On Wednesday evening, Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow proved her vocal chops by pulling off her first live singing performance at the 44th annual CMA Awards. Although her singing skills had remained largely under wraps until the awards show, Paltrow scored rave reviews from critics and country superstars alike for her rendition of "Country Strong," which is also the title of her upcoming flick.

It turns out that Paltrow had some superstar assistance for her CMA debut. Before she hit the stage, she opened up to "Access Hollywood" about reaching out to her celebrity pals while prepping for her performance.

"I kind of asked my girl singer friends [for advice]," she said. "I asked Faith [Hill] a lot of questions ... and Beyoncé actually too."

Gwyneth added that she took some cues from B's fierce stage presence. "I studied Beyoncé a lot and her concerts for her kind of confidence," she said, adding, "And I'm lucky that I know some singers in real life."

The superstar study sessions paid off, as Paltrow won over music experts and country stars with her bold, clear vocals and ease with the guitar.

"Strumming an acoustic guitar, looking a little nervous but singing the movie's title song in an expressive, surging tone, she didn't really need the assistance of the wonderful Vince Gill, there to give a polite country-industry imprimatur to Paltrow's efforts," Entertainment Weekly's Ken Tucker wrote.

"She sounded really country, I think. She seems very genuine," CMA winner Miranda Lambert told USA Today.

What did you think of Gwyneth Paltrow's CMA performance? Let us know in the comments!

Kanye West Blows a Fuse After Today Show Interview

Kanye West Blows a Fuse After Today Show Interview

On Wednesday's Today interview with George W. Bush, Matt Lauer played a short clip of Kanye West apologizing for calling Dubya a racist. The former president told Lauer that he'd forgiven West, and that was that.

But it was far from over from the hip-hop star's point of view. The interview -- which aired in full on Thursday -- was a set-up to make him look bad and force him to apologize to Bush. Even worse, he says, they played the clip of Kanye stealing the mic from Taylor Swift at last year's VMAs... while he was trying to say, "I'm sorry."

"I went up there to express how I was empathetic to Bush because I labeled him a racist and years later I got labeled as a racist," Kanye tweeted on Tuesday evening. "While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the 'MTV' under me with audio!"

West continued by turning his anger on Matt Lauer.

"HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS," said Kanye in his trademark all-caps font. "IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT."

And then, Kanye got poetic with his tweet:

"I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused."

When the full interview that got West so enraged  finally aired on Today on Thursday, it's more clear why he got frustrated. Lauer prodded him about what he would say to Bush if he met him -- and somewhat manipulatively asked him to watch a clip of the reporter's interview with Bush to see how emotional he got during their talk (see clip below).

But what really riled West up was when talk turned to his being labeled a racist after his infamous MTV Video Music Awards incident with Taylor Swift and producers played a clip of that moment while he was talking -- standard talk-show fare.

"Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you gonna run this thing in the middle, while I'm talking?" West lashed out while stopping mid-sentence. "Please don't let that happen again, it's like ridiculous."

During his closing segment on Thursday's Today show, Lauer addressed that moment. "It's something we do every day -- when a guest is talking about an incident or a location, we run video of that," Lauer says. "There was nothing improper about it, nothing unusual about it whatsoever."

But, as West ranted on Twitter, the sitdown with Lauer has soured him on doing any more interviews.

"I don't trust anyone but myself! Everyone has an agenda," the musician tweeted. "I don't do press anymore. I can't be everything to everybody anymore."

Whether he keeps that promise remains to be seen.

Do you think Kanye West was justified in feeling manipulated by his Today show appearance? Chime in below!

Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga Take Home Billboard Touring Awards

On Thursday (November 4), U2, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift won big at the 2010 Billboard Touring Awards, which hand out prizes based on global box-office numbers reported to the music trade publication Billboard.

The evening's top honors went to U2's massive U2 360 Tour, which won the Top Tour and Top Draw Awards. Those awards are given to the tours that, respectively, have the highest box-office gross and sell the most tickets worldwide during the period between October 1, 2009, and September 30.

Lady Gaga, who is projected to gross nearly $200 million once her long-running Monster Ball Tour wraps up, took home the Breakthrough Award as well as the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award. Virgin Mobile served as the singer's official sponsors for the American and Canadian legs of her trek.

Taylor Swift continued her rather astounding week by taking home the Top Package Award for her Fearless Tour, which featured opening acts Kellie Pickler and Gloriana.

A few other awards were handed out at the ceremony, which took place at the close of the Billboard Touring Conference in New York. Dane Cook edged out his fellow comedians to take the Top Comedy Tour Award. Metallica received the Eventful Fans' Choice Award, while fellow hard rockers AC/DC won the Top Boxscore Award for their three-night stint at ANZ Stadium in Sydney. Prog-rock legends Rush were named the 2010 Billboard Legends Of Live, and Jack Johnson took home the Humanitarian Award.

What was your favorite tour of the past year? Let us know in the comments!

Britney Spears To Hit Studio With Max Martin, Dr. Luke This Week

'I'm pretty sure it's a smash,' Spears' manager tweets about song for her upcoming album.

For those wondering what the deal is with Britney Spears' next album, her manager, Adam Leber, tweeted an update about the princess of pop's musical endeavors as she works on the follow-up to 2008's Circus.

"Brit is recording a big big BIG new song on Friday with #MaxMartin & @TheDrLuke. I'm pretty sure it's a smash!" he wrote. Leber recently said that the album would sound "progressive" and that ''it'll be a departure from what you've heard" in the past.

Dr. Luke retweeted Leber's message, as well as this update for all the Britney fans out there: "Please continue to wait 4 Britney's new song!!!!" Luke worked with Spears on her "Circus" track for her last album.

As for Martin, he and Spears have a long history of making music together, having worked on "3," "... Baby One More Time" and "If U Seek Amy."

"She's such an icon, I don't want to let anyone down," Dr. Luke recently shared about working with Britney, who is expected to release music sometime in early 2011. "But most importantly, I want to make good music ... I'm excited to be co-executive producing with Max Martin, the person who kind of invented Britney, and to make good music. And she's such an amazing vehicle to getting that music out to a lot of people in every country."

Spears has also hit the studio with producer Danja, who worked on her song "Gimme More." He explained, "I'm definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard-hitting, up-tempo, high-energy. That's what I think we need and that's what I'm gonna shoot for."

Jim Carrey Calls Anyone Who Bullies 'No Friend Of Mine'

Star plays a closeted gay man in upcoming 'I Love You Phillip Morris,' and says 'to feel like an outcast is a terrible thing.'
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Jim Carrey
Photo: MTV News

In recent weeks, after a spate of suicides by gay teens grappling with peer harassment issues, everyone from Justin Bieber to the president has spoken out on the topic of bullying.

"All of us have an obligation to think about how we're treating other people. What we may think is funny or cute may end up being powerfully hurtful," President Obama said at MTV's forum last month .

To that growing chorus of high-profile voices, add Jim Carrey. The 48-year-old funnyman stars in the long-delayed "I Love You Phillip Morris" — the true story of a man who comes out of the closet and finds his soul mate while in prison — and spoke eloquently about the importance of accepting and celebrating our differences during a recent chat with MTV News.

"This is a horrible thing to be bullied, and to feel like an outcast is a terrible thing," Carrey told us. "It's just so an old thing, an old antiquated way of thinking that you can't have anymore. It doesn't belong in the new paradigm.

"Every time you look at somebody and think, 'I don't like that about that person,' you just got to know that's about you," he added. "Anybody who bullies anybody for any reason is no friend of mine. Frankly, I can't imagine hitting a human being for any reason except self-preservation, if I was attacked. Your sensibilities are different when you're a school kid and there's gang mentality, but it ain't cool."

Carrey confessed he often felt like an outsider while growing up, but found "little tricks" to make himself popular. Now an A-list actor working in Hollywood, he's found himself collaborating with movie industry insiders, some of whom are gays and lesbians — a situation that many bullying teens will also experience in the future. For that reason, at the very least, Carrey said teens would be wise to treat everyone with respect, regardless of any perceived differences.

"Some of the most valuable people in my life are gay," he said. "People that bring magical, amazing gifts and contributions to my life. I would say to kids out there when they're engaging in these kinds of isolations of people, someday you're going to want those people in your life. You're going to need those people in your life, and you're not going to want that on your conscience."

"I Love You Phillip Morris" is due to hit theaters on December 3.

Ke$ha Goes 'Hard' On New Single, 'We R Who We R'

Singer keeps the party going with first single from Cannibal.
By Jocelyn Vena

Ke$ha
Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage

Ke$ha has found a chart-topping formula — combine killer beats with lyrics about super-fun parties and hot pants. And her latest single, "We R Who We R," certainly fits that mold.

The track, the first single off her November 22 release Cannibal, hit the Internet on Thursday (October 14). It's another uber-fun tune about how awesome it is to dance the night away, with Ke$ha singing on the chorus: "Tonight we're going hard/ Just like the world is ours/ We're tearing it apart/ You know we're superstars/ we are who we are."

While the song doesn't veer much from prior club bangers like "Tik Tok" and "Take It Off," the singer admits that "We R" is in part inspired by the recent rash of suicides among gay youth. "I wanted to inspire people to be themselves," she told EW.com. "It's a celebration of any sort of quirks or eccentricities."

In January, Ke$ha released her debut album Animal and it went straight to the top of the charts. Cannibal — a nine-song set that features collaborations with Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh — is set to be released both on its own and as a bundle with Animal.

"I don't want to go away!" she said. "I feel like I'm creating this hopefully very youthful and irreverent movement of the kids, of, like, adolescence. I feel like the parents don't get it, but the kids get it. And they deserve to have more good, positive music ... It's fun as sh--! So I wanted to give [my fans] that."

The Seventeen cover girl also tweeted a message to her fans about the tune: "WE R WHO WE R! on the radio today you guys like??? dancin liiiiike were dumbbbb we be forever younggggg."

Lady Gaga, Beyonce Among Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women

First lady Michelle Obama takes top spot on list, which also includes Oprah and Sarah Palin.

Lady Gaga has notched another milestone on her road to global pop-culture domination. The 24-year-old singer was recently named one of Forbes magazine's World's 100 Most Powerful Women list alongside CEOs, heads of state and media phenoms like herself.

Gaga took the #7 slot on the list, which was unveiled Wednesday (October 6), behind women such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama, who was named the most powerful woman on the planet (and is the first African-American to top the list). Gaga was the second-most powerful entertainer in the rankings, coming in behind Oprah, who clocked in at #3.

Other powerful ladies include Gaga's "Telephone" collaborator Beyoncé (#9), talk-show host and former "American Idol" judge Ellen DeGeneres (#10), author and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (#16) and screen siren and activist Angelina Jolie (#21). Gaga is no novice when it comes to Forbes shout-outs. In June, she debuted at #4 on the magazine's 2010 Celebrity Power List, due to her cash-magnet Monster Ball Tour, $62 million in earnings, Web popularity and deals with companies such as Polaroid and MAC. B was bumped two spots to #2 after raking in $86 million from her world tour, arsenal of endorsement deals and House of Deréon products. Oprah has been a Forbes mainstay, coming in at #1 this year on the Celebrity Power List after ceding the crown to Angelina Jolie the year before. The mogul snatched the top spot back with a nine-figure payday and media conglomerate that includes TV shows, magazines and more.

Perhaps Gaga will wield her hefty worldwide clout to push for her causes. A longtime gay-rights supporter, the entertainer has most recently waged a campaign for the repeal of the U.S. Armed Forces' polarizing "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

What do you think of Gaga making the Forbes list? Sound off in the comments!

Alicia Keys has proven to be as selfless in real life as she is in song.

The singer held her 8th annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball event in New York on Thursday night. The fundraiser brought out Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Usher, Jay Sean, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston and more.

Jay-Z and Keys' husband, Swizz Beatz, performed "On to the Next One," and Jay later performed "Empire State of Mind." Monae also hit the stage, as did Keys and Sade, who performed a duet, "Love Is Stronger Than Pride."

"It's my heart and soul," Keys told MTV News about the organization she co-founded. "Since the beginning, we've been very driven to do incredible work. I'm proud to show what four to five women who are very dedicated can do."

The organization benefits children and families who have been affected by AIDS but can't afford to purchase medicine; the event reportedly helped raise $2.4 million.

This year, Keep a Child Alive introduced the "Buy Life" T-shirt. The shirt features a large barcode on the garment; donors can buy the shirt and scan the code with their smart phones to make a donation to the charity. Every time the code is scanned by a phone, a donation goes through. Ryan Seacrest, Kim Kardashian and Katie Holmes are among the celebrity spokespeople appearing in ads for the shirt.

"It's like a dream to me to be among these people singing and performing, and opening people's eyes to what Keep a Child Alive can do," Keys said.

Mary J. Blige Dishes On Her 'Crazy' Led Zeppelin Covers

'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'

You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.

In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.

But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.

"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."

Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.

"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

Them Crooked Vultures make their debut with a post-Lollapalooza set.

Officially, Lollapalooza ended Sunday night in Chicago's Grant Park, with dueling sets from the Killers and Jane's Addiction. Unofficially, it ended very early Monday morning, across town at venerable rock club the Metro, with a surprise show by Them Crooked Vultures.

To the unfamiliar, the Vultures might seem like an odd choice to close out Lolla weekend ... until you realize that they're made up of Foo Fighters frontman/ former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones. And their gig at the Metro was their world premiere.

According to some reports, the Vultures actually turned down Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell's request to replace the Beastie Boys as headliners at the festival, opting to debut in front of some 1,100 super-psyched fans at the Metro, rather than 75,000 in Grant Park (tickets for the gig were announced via Foo Fighter/ QOTSA fan clubs). Meaning that, in a lot of ways, this was the most sought-after ticket in town.

Taking the stage just after midnight, the Vultures — Grohl on drums (of course), Homme on guitar and vocals, Jones on bass and keys and frequent QOTSA contributor Alain Johannes on guitar — ripped through 12 songs in 80 minutes, all taken from their upcoming debut, which may or may not be called Never Deserved the Future, and may or may not be hitting stores on October 23 (early "promo" videos touting both those facts were revealed over the weekend to be hoaxes perpetrated by QOTSA fans).

The songs, with appropriately Homme-ian titles like "Scumbag Blues," "Mind Eraser (No Chaser)," "Caligulove" and "Interlude w/Ludes," sounded pretty much how you'd expect, given the band's pedigree. They rocked, hard — Chicago Tribune critic Greg Kot described them as "fresh, invigorating and just plain nasty" — delving off into psychedelic, reverb-filled excursions and exploring proggy territory, "both of the old-school Yes variety, and the more modern Tool flavor," according to the Chicago Sun-Times' Jim DeRogatis.

It's not known if Monday's Metro performance was a one-off event for the Vultures — there have been whispers of a full-blown tour, but a spokesperson for Homme had not responded to MTV News' request for comment at press time. Nor was it clear whether or not they'll have an album out in October.

Early Monday, a Crooked Vultures Twitter account, which had previously posted links to the band's official-looking Web site and the Metro's online ticketing site — posted a link to what appears to be the group's first bit of official merchandise: a Deserve the Future T-shirt. Cost: $30.

Michael Jackson's Parents, Children Open Up On 'Oprah'

When asked what she missed most about her father, Paris responded, 'Everything.'
By Gil Kaufman

In her first major interview since her son Michael Jackson's death last year, Katherine Jackson opened up to Oprah Winfrey on Monday (November 8) during a tearful talk in which she discussed the day her son died, the devastating impact of his 2005 child-molestation trial and the legacy Jackson left for his three young children.

"I don't think I will ever be healed," Katherine said when asked if she believes that time will make things easier. "It will get better, but some days it's like it just happened. ... It hurts. It really hurts."

During the hour-long special, Katherine said her youngest son was "misunderstood" and she had trouble talking about Michael, often tearing up when remembering him.

Michael died June 25, 2009, of a heart attack caused by an overdose of the surgical anesthetic propofol, and Katherine said she learned of her son's death from his personal doctor, Conrad Murray, after arriving at the hospital. "He came out, and he was talking, and it took him so long." Frustrated, Katherine asked, "Did he make it?" and Murray said, " 'No, he's gone.' That's all I remember," she said, tearing up once more at the memory. She called it the worst day of her life.

Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jackson's death, and prosecutors allege that his actions at the mansion Jackson was renting in Los Angeles were grossly negligent and directly caused Jackson's death. Murray has pleaded not guilty.

Though family patriarch Joseph Jackson has discussed his feelings about Murray, Katherine has kept relatively mum on the subject, until now. "Why didn't he take care of my child? Why did he give that [propofol] to him?" she asked. "It's very dangerous; why did he do it? ... I can't accuse him of murder. I don't know if it was accidentally done or it was intentionally done. I don't want to get into that, but I have my thoughts."

She said she'd never heard of propofol before and had no idea Michael was taking prescription drugs to help him sleep. She knew he had taken drugs to treat his burns from an accident during the filming of a 1984 Pepsi commercial and that he had become addicted to those drugs and that his siblings had attempted an intervention at one point. "I spoke to him about [drugs] once, when I had heard it, and he denied it," she said. "I was telling him I didn't want to one day hear that he had overdosed because it would break my heart, it would kill me too. He kept saying he wasn't, saying, 'My own mother don't believe me.' "

In addition to the burns, Katherine said MJ's addiction was fueled by his devastating 2005 child-molestation trial, in which he was acquitted of all charges but not before his career, and public image, were irreparably damaged.

"All his life, he had to go through stuff like this, and they were just lying on him," she said, asserting that she never once questioned his innocence in the matter. "I never thought [he could be guilty of molesting a child], because I know he wouldn't. He loved children, and he was around children all the time ... 'I'd rather slit my own wrists than to hurt a child' — he would always say that."

After the trial, she said, Jackson didn't trust anyone. And now, Katherine is raising his three children — Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket — and she admitted that she didn't approve of the way her son kept their faces shrouded during his life. After a cloistered existence, Katherine said the children are adjusting "very well" to their new life, which includes going to regular schools, playing and camping with their cousins and going out in public.

Along with some cousins, the kids came to visit near the end of the show, with Blanket proving to have inherited his dad's shy nature. Prince Michael said, in addition to loving video games, he wants to produce movies and direct, while a self-assured Paris said she'd like to be an actress after years of improv practice with her dad. Paris said Michael tried to hide his worldwide fame from them but she realized the veils and disguises were to protect them from prying eyes.

While Paris revealed that he was a strict dad (and an excellent cook, whose specialty was French toast), Blanket interjected, "He could get away with anything." When asked what she missed the most about her father, Paris responded, "Everything."

After an initial nose job, Michael began getting a series of surgeries, Katherine said, including ones that made his nose look like a "toothpick." Mostly, though, she said he treated his skin to erase the marks of a condition that made it splotchy.

"He didn't want to start looking 'like a spotted cow,' he said," Katherine recalled of Jackson's skin surgeries to treat his vitiligo. "I don't know what in the world he did to change that, but he did." Her comments appeared to contradict something Jackson himself told Winfrey several years ago when he claimed to have only had two surgeries. "He had more than two; he was just embarrassed," Katherine said.

In a surprise, Katherine was joined by husband Joseph later in the interview, with both refuting rumors that they are estranged or divorced. After years of similar denials, Joe once again asserted that he had never beat Michael. "I don't think he was afraid of me," he said. "I never beat him like the media tried to say. That never happened." Winfrey reminded him that Michael had said in a 1993 interview with her that Joseph had beaten his son, and then he asked her to specify between "beat or whipped."

Joe replied that he was proud that Michael was raised in such a way that he was a beloved, successful singer and not a drug or violence casualty like so many peers from Gary, Indiana. "You might as well admit it: That's the way black people raised their children," Katherine answered. "He used a strap."

Seemingly admitting it, Joseph again said he was proud none of his nine children ever landed in jail, suggesting that his hard hand kept them on the straight-and-narrow. "I don't [regret the beatings]," he said. "It kept them out of jail, and I raised them right and they were good kids."

Harrison Ford Is 'Looking Forward' To 'Indiana Jones 5'

But there's 'no timeline' for production, the 'Morning Glory' star tells MTV News. 'While I'm alive, I hope.'
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Both Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf have dropped tidbits to the press about plans for a fifth "Indiana Jones" film, following the $786 million success of "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in 2008.

But on the red carpet for the "Morning Glory" premiere this weekend in New York City, Ford told reporters there are currently no plans whatsoever for "Indiana Jones 5."

Yet Ford told MTV News just the opposite before the premiere, informing us that Indy creator George Lucas has the project lined up and the 68-year-old actor can't wait for the chance to crack the archeologist's whip once again.

"It's on George's plate, and I'm hoping he's working hard at it, because I'd look forward to doing it again if the three of us could get together — George, [director] Steven Spielberg, myself — I'd love to do another," he said.

While he expressed enthusiasm for the project, Ford stopped short of doling out further details, saying only, "I'm not at liberty to tell you what I know and what I don't know."

This past summer, LaBeouf went into a touch more detail about the production, though he didn't address rumors that the story would take Ford and LaBeouf to the Bermuda Triangle.

"I got called into Steven's office, and he pitched a little bit to me and it sounds crazy," LaBeouf said. "It sounds really cool."

Almost two decades passed between the premiere of "The Last Crusade" in 1989 and the debut of "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in '08. So how much time is going to pass before fans get a chance to buy tickets for a fifth franchise installment?

"No timeline. While I'm alive, I hope," Ford laughed. "It'll be better for everybody."

Do you want Harrison and Shia to team up for another "Indiana Jones" installment? Tell us in the comments!

Rihanna's 'Raining Men,' Two Other Tracks Leak

Nicki Minaj collaboration among trio of club tracks from RiRi's album that can be heard online in advance of its November 16 release.
By Jocelyn Vena

It's getting mighty Loud as we approach the November 16 release of Rihanna's new album. With two singles already out, "Only Girl (In the World)" and "What's My Name?," three more tracks off her forthcoming record have made their way online.

Nicki Minaj joins the party with Rihanna for the sure-to-be-club-banger "Raining Men." The girl-power anthem combines Rihanna's pop-superstar swagger with Nicki's hip-hop it-girl swagger. The tune finds Minaj adopting an island accent for her verse. Meanwhile, the chorus pretty much sums up the bravado of the heavily hip-hop-influenced track, as Rihanna sings, "Falling like the rain/ So we ain't running out/ Always raining men/ So what you worried about."

Another leaked tune is the Stargate-produced "S&M." Rihanna stays on the dance floor with the song as she meows over a throbbing beat, "Feels so good being bad/ There's no way I'm turning back." Then, for the song's naughty chorus, she busts out lines like, "I may be bad but I'm perfectly good at it/ There's sex in the air/ I don't care, I love the smell of it/ Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me."

The final leaked track, "Cheers (Drink to That)," is a definite party anthem in the making. Rihanna's sexy, island-flavored vocals vibrate over the tune's bumping beat. The song gets some help thanks to a sample from Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You." Lavigne's wailing yodel compliments RiRi's assured bellow on the track.

Rihanna recently discussed Loud with MTV News, explaining why it has a more up-tempo vibe than last year's Rated R. "A lot has — I won't say changed, but a lot has evolved since then," she said. "A lot of growing up, a lot of responsibility in terms of taking control of my business and stuff like that."

So what do you think of the new Rihanna tunes? Tell us in the comments.

Britney Spears' Best Pre-'Glee' Comedy Moments

Before she hits up 'Glee,' relive her small-screen history.
By Jocelyn Vena

Tuesday night's (September 28) "Glee" episode is all about Britney Spears. While fans and the show's stars are excited to see the singer light up the screen in the appropriately titled "Britney/Brittany" episode, it's hardly the first time Spears has performed for a laugh on the small screen (and we're not talking about her docu-series "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic").

Spears brought the funny in a show-opening appearance on the 2009 VMAs, her top 10 list on "Late Night With David Letterman" and on "Saturday Night Live," especially during her stints as the show's host in 2000 and 2002.

In 1999, Britney Spears stopped by "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" to teach Melissa Joan Hart a lesson or two about loneliness, fame and the proper way to do choreography. The duo also hooked up for Spears' "(You Drive Me) Crazy" video from the soundtrack for Hart's movie "Drive Me Crazy," which featured "Entourage" star Adrian Grenier.

Spears was one of the many pop stars to stop by "Will & Grace" when she made an appearance on the show in 2006. She showed off her Southern accent and comedic flair as closeted lesbian Amber Louise.

The singer proved she was funny once again when she appeared on "How I Met Your Mother" in 2008. Her People's Choice-nominated cameo (she was up for Favorite Scene-Stealing Guest Star) had fans rooting for her again after a difficult period in her personal life. She hit the small screen as Abby, a receptionist with a grudge against Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) after he forgot to call her after they, uh, went out.

What was your favorite small-screen moment for Britney Spears? Let us know in the comments!

How Is Miley Cyrus Dealing with Her Parents' Divorce?

How Is Miley Cyrus Dealing with Her Parents' Divorce?

Miley Cyrus, 17, has a lot to deal with right now: on top of her fast-paced music career, her upcoming feature film and her imminent eighteenth birthday, she's coping with the separation of her parents, Leticia and Billy Ray Cyrus. That's a lot of stress for anyone, but especially for a teenage girl. So how well is she doing? That depends who you ask.

According to an anonymous insider at Ok! Magazine, Cyrus has been "feeling very stuck in the middle" as her parents go into divorce proceedings -- and is dealing with it by "partying and not sleeping a ton." We don't know how much the singer is actually partying, but we do know that she's getting flack for drinking a beer at a dance club in Spain on Friday night.

However, we're not so sure that everyone needs to get worked up about one beer. (She's approaching college freshman age, after all!) As far as we know, Cyrus hasn't shown signs of a drinking problem and appears to be keeping up with her many professional demands. The first photo from her next big film, LOL with Demi Moore, hit the internet on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Cyrus gave a "fierce" live performance of her single "Who Owns My Heart" at the European Music Awards.

The young star also seems to be making an effort to keep her family drama-free. At a rehearsal for the EMAs, Cyrus told MTV that she hoped to celebrate her birthday by taking a getaway with the whole Cyrus crew. (See video below.)

"I'm not going to go crazy; [just] have a fun party and then maybe take a vacation with my family ... because that would be really cool. I think we need time to all be together," Cyrus told MTV. "So that would be rad if we could all go to the beach or something."

We hope that Miley's parents continue to support her through their rift; it's so easy for teen stars to fall into the trap of too much partying. But we also hope that Cyrus is smart enough to take a break if she needs it -- a lesson recently learned the hard way by her fellow Disney protogee, Demi Lovato.

Do you think that Miley Cyrus is pushing herself too hard? Chime in below!
